Further charges have been brought against a 16-year-old boy accused of attacking two people at a secondary school.

Police were called to reports of a person believed to be in possession of a knife at Manshead Academy in Caddington, Bedfordshire, on Friday afternoon.

A teenager and a member of staff in his 60s were hurt during the incident, but their injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of threatening a person with a bladed article.

It followed him facing charges of assault and threatening a person with a bladed article at Luton Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He was remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance on 9 June.

Bedfordshire Police first received a call about the incident, in Dunstable Road, at 13:40 BST on Friday.

"Officers are continuing with reassurance patrols around the school and local community," a force spokeswoman said.
